Garret
Travers

President
The Superior Group

Garret currently serves as President of The Superior Group and has been with the company for 10 years. Previously, Garret served as the Service Manager and General Manager for the mechanical service division.

As President, Garret supports the strategic direction of The Superior Group with a key focus on the long-term growth and sustainability of the ESOP. You will find him still actively involved with solving technical issues for clients, and you’ll never keep him from working with the team to identify and bring in key project opportunities.

Garret has over 20 years of experience in the industry, with an emphasis on service and owner-direct energy conservation measure projects. After growing up in Alaska, Garret left to attend Perry Technical Institute’s HVAC/R program in Yakima, WA. An Alaskan at heart, he always planned to return immediately after school. However, the lure of gaining experience working with some of the most advanced systems in the world kept him away for over a decade. Garret served clients in software development, data centers, aerospace, healthcare, space exploration, and manufacturing. Starting as a service technician, he later held roles as Service Manager and General Manager in Washington State, and eventually became Regional Sales Manager for Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. Garret concluded his time in the Lower 48 working for the second-largest mechanical contractor in the nation.

Starting a family was the catalyst for Garret’s return to Alaska. He currently resides in Eagle River with his wife, son, and daughter. As a family, you’ll find them backpacking, camping, rafting, mountain biking, and fishing in the summer. In the winter Garret enjoys skiing, ice climbing, snowmachining, and any excuse he can get to be in the mountains.

Garret is driven by our core values and a passion for contributing positively to the Alaskan community. Joining an ESOP company was a transformational experience for him, as it allowed him to be part of a team where everyone truly is “all in”.
