Resilient Systems for Community Care

Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center
Anchorage, Alaska
Ongoing

Project Summary

Superior has provided professional maintenance for Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center’s facility since construction was completed in 2013. As the facility’s needs have changed over the years, Superior has adapted the maintenance to ensure long-term reliability and operation of the mechanical systems. In addition, the service projects team has completed numerous mechanical improvements over the years.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Superior completely renovated the dental clinic to provide added protection for patients and staff. This project included all new medium-pressure ductwork, VAV boxes, the addition of reheat coils, and a new dedicated exhaust system. The project accomplished increased air changes per hour, which improved safety for patients and staff.

To support ANHC’s growth, Superior made several modifications in 2021, including adding VAVs, changing the air distribution, and increasing the distribution of domestic hot water throughout the building.

In 2024, Superior provided a turnkey replacement of ANHC’s central rooftop units. This project provided equipment with new technology that was complementary to ANHC’s needs, which had been developed over the years. The project required significant logistical coordination to accomplish the replacement of the 60-ton and 30-ton units over a weekend. The project was completed on time, allowing ANHC to provide uninterrupted patient care.
